29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment: a) 1 Barker Road, Gloversville, NY-On or about June 17, 2021, employees were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards while operating chainsaws during tree removal. Employees did not wear leg protection such as protective chaps while trimming branches. b) 1 Barker Road, Gloversville, NY-On or about June 17, 2021, employees were exposed to hearing hazards while operating chainsaws and wood chippers during tree removal. Employees did not utilize hearing protection while quartering logs and trimming branches.
