29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: A.) Joseph McCormick Construction Company, Inc. - On or about 8/25/20, and at times prior thereto, the temperature of tar/asphalt cement was approximately 250 degrees when it was leaving the application wand. Face shields were not being provided and utilized when employees were utilizing the Crafco 1000 Series tar buggy to work around and with tar/asphalt cement. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
