29 CFR 1926.652(g)(2): Excavations of earth material to a level no greater than 2 feet (.61m) below the bottom of a shield was permitted when the shield was not designed to resist the forces calculated for the full depth of the trench: a) On or about April 27, 2020, at the excavation located at the corner of Quail Meadow Dr. and Lantern Ln., trench shields were set more than 2 feet above the excavation floor, exposing employees to caught-in hazards.
