29 CFR 1910.29(b)(2)(i): 29 CFR 1910.29(b)(2)(i): Midrails were not installed at a height midway between the top edge of the guardrail system and the walking-working surface: (a) Packing Robot 10/11 - On November 19, 2019, the employer did not ensure that a midrail was installed on guardrail systems. The toprail installed at the end of the south platform adjacent to the south vibrators measured at 36 inches high was not equipped with a midrail. (b) Packing Robot 10/11 - On December 3, 2019, the employer did not ensure that midrails installed on the platform were installed at height midway between the top edge of the guardrail system and the walking working surface. The toprail installed throughout the south platform measured at 39 inches high with midrails measuring at 12 inches high. In accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete and must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase, or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
