29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): When the employer had assessed the workplace hazard(s) and determined that hazard(s) were present, the employer did not select and/or use the types of personal protective equipment (PPE) that would protect the affected employee from the hazards identified in the assessment: The employer is failing to prevent employee exposure to burn and struck-by hazards through the utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment. On or about October 1, 2019 the following conditions were present: a. The PPE hazard assessment listed "long sleeves shirt and pants" for "Burn potential" hazard. Cotton or flame resistant (FR) clothing was not correctly identified as PPE for body protection. b. The PPE hazard assessment did not include a hard hat for the identified "Blunt impact" hazard. Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
