29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: (a) On or about December 2, 2018, and at times prior thereto, a crew of Ginno Steel employees were directed to perform a re-roofing job that included tear-off of older material on a low slope roof (4:12 pitch) and install new roofing materials. Six employees were exposed to multiple fall hazards ranging from heights of 14-21 feet above the ground to wet, slippery new metal roofing materials. The workers were not provided direction on how to appropriately address the fall hazards for this job. Note: Abatement certification AND supporting documentation are required for this item.
