29 CFR 1910.272(g)(1)(i): The employer did not issue a permit for entering bins, silos or tanks in the grain handling facility before the employees entered the bins, silos, or tanks: (a) On or about September 7, 2018, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not protect employees from the hazards of asphyxia and/or crushing by grain engulfment. Employees enter bins without a permit which certifies that the precautions contained in 1910.272(g) are implemented prior to the employees entering bins, silos or tanks. Note: Abatement certification IS required for this item.
