29 CFR 1910.95(i)(3): Employees were not given the opportunity to select their hearing protectors from a variety of suitable hearing protectors provided by the employer: a) Production area: On or about August 15, 2018, and at times prior, the employer exposed the grinder operator to noise levels above the action level of 87 decibels (66% dose) without providing a selection of hearing protection. The employee had an exposure of 93.3 decibels (158.5 % dose) during the 406 minute sampling period. The exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 74 minutes not sampled. b) Production area: On or about August 15, 2018, and at times prior, the employer exposed the baler operator to noise levels above the action level of 87 decibels (66% dose) without providing a selection of hearing protection. The employee had an exposure of 87.5 decibels (71.03 % dose) during the 404 minute sampling period. The exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 76 minutes not sampled.
