29 CFR 1926.302(e)(11): Powder-actuated tools were not used with the correct shield, guard, or attachment recommended by the manufacturer: (a) On July 7, 2018, the Western Technology 1001-4K 2-Wire Sealed Electric deadman control was taped to the blasting hose instead of placing the chain around the employee's wrist to operate the deadman control correctly, in case an accident occurred while the employee was sandblasting at 5021 Groh Lane, Fairfield, OH. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
