29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a) Saw Dept., Kaltenbach Cold Saw - On or about May 16 through May 24, 2018 employees who performed servicing and maintenance tasks, including cleaning of the saw blade area, were exposed to amputation and laceration hazards. The employer failed to develop and document lockout/tagout procedures to protect employees during cleaning of the saw blade area where they were exposed to hazardous residual energy during the wind-down time for the blade to stop moving. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
