Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. On or about March 5, 2018, employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 12.4 feet while working from a scaffold platform that was elevated and supported by a skid steer loader. Employees worked from the scaffold platform, which was made from a wooden parts crate, to prepare a grain dryer for removal and replacement. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CRF 1902.19(c).
