29 CFR 1910.1200(h): Employees were not provided effective information and training as specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1) and (h)(2) on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard was introduced into the work environment. (a) Employees were not trained on hazardous chemicals in the facility and the requirements of the Hazard Communication program, to include the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. The GHS requirements include pictograms, signal words, precautionary statements and the ranking system of hazard classification. Employees use MasterSeal M 200SLV and toluene when applying concrete floor coatings. (b) Employees using MasterSeal M 200SLV that contains an isocyanate ingredient that is a skin sensitizer, were not trained on the potential hazards and precautionary protective measures to protect themselves from sensitization and occupational asthma.
