29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Unguarded projecting shaft end(s) did not present a smooth edge and end projected more than one half the diameter of the shaft. (a) Press Number three (3) straight side punch press: Employees working around the out feed tail end of the conveyor associated with removal of scrap metal produced from punch press operations were exposed to an unguarded shaft end projecting more than one half the diameter of the shaft diameter, and did not present a smooth edge protected by a nonrotating cap or sleeve. This exposed employees to a caught-on hazard and a cut and laceration hazard.
