Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation: Production area - The following hydraulic presses had press control systems that were not designed to require continuous pressure from both hands while there was a hazard at the point of operation: a. Denison Hydroilic Multipress - Company # P85 b. Denison Hydroilic Multipress - Company # P307 c. Denison Hydroilic Multipress - Company # 443 d. Denison Multipress - Company # 128 e. Denison Hydroilic Multipress - Company # P40 Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install a hydraulic press control system designed to require continuous pressure from both hands while there is a hazard at the point of operation in accordance with the requirements contained in ANSI B11.2-1982 DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM
