29 CFR 1910.212(a)(4): Barrels, containers, and drums. Revolving drums, barrels, and containers shall be guarded by an enclosure which is interlocked with the drive mechanism, so that the barrel, drum, or container cannot revolve unless the guard enclosure is in place. a. On or about June 17, 2015, employees were required to operate a tube filling machine in the production area on a daily basis. The revolving containers on the tube filling machine were not guarded by an enclosure which was interlocked. Employees were thereby exposed to struck-by, crushing, and amputation hazards.
