29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(4)(i): All Class I work, including the installation and operation of the control system, was not supervised by a competent person as defined in 29 CFR 1926.1101(b): a) In the period between 20th and 23rd of June 2014, the employer did not ensure that a competent person supervised Class I work operations conducted by employees removing asbestos thermal insulation system (TSI) pipe elbows containing 5-35% chrysotile asbestos. The TSI elbows were on the south wall of the cafeteria and eight other spray painted TSI pipe elbows in the school were also removed, thereby exposing employees to the hazards associated with asbestos.
