29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress was not located in trench excavations that were 4 feet (1.22m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62m) of lateral travel for employees: On or about October 24, 2013 at worksite 1017 SW Drake Circle in Lees Summit, Missouri- Employees were laying a sanitary sewer line in a trench that was between 8 and 14 feet in depth that did not have a ladder that could safely remove the employees from the trench. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IS NOT REQUIRED.
