Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.23(d)(1)(ii): Flights of stair(s) with four or more risers, less than 44 inches wide and having one side open, were not equipped with a standard stair railing on the open side: (a) Zimmerman Manufacturing, LLC, 125 King Court, New Holland, PA - A stairway containing twelve risers was not equipped with a standard railing system on the open side, in that it was missing the mid rail. Employees utilized the stairway in order to access the computer room on the second floor, exposing employees to a fall hazard, on or about May 31, 2012. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
