Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: The east-west aisle south of the Leveling Line, and the access area between rows of steel coils stored "eye-to-the-side" located east of the Mesta Slitter, were not kept clear of temporary steel coil storage. The east-west aisle, and the approximately 7 to 8 foot wide space between the rows of coils, are used by employees operating a pendant controlled crane with a 80 inch long "C" hook attachment to place or remove coils from the rows of coil storage.nt
