29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and verticalsurface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about February 16, 2012, at the jobsite located 308-312 E. 53rd Street, Chicago, IL. - Employees working in a rehab performing electrical work were exposed to fall hazards due to unprotected sides of the porch landings, thereby exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately twenty three (23) feet.
