Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1):Energy control program. The employer shall establish a program consisting of energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performs any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative. a) On or before 2/21/2024 the employer did not ensure that the employer's energy control program adequately addressed the following topics including energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections, in that the current program required employees to fill out a form on lockout versus providing a machine specific procedures for the employees performing servicing and maintenance on equipment such as but not limited to; Delta Slitter line (model # DSS-01) to follow to ensure that through training the authorized employees understood the hazardous energy sources and the procedures to secure such hazardous energy sources; electric and hydraulics.
