Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): a) On or about January 17, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the point of operation on the Dry Depositor 1 was adequately guarded to prevent employees from accessing the point of operation during the normal machine cycles. i.e. heat-sealing jaws on the Dry Depositor. This exposed employees to caught-between hazards from moving machine parts that could result in amputations. b) On or about January 17, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the point of operation on the Dry Depositor 2 was adequately guarded to prevent employees from accessing the point of operation during the normal machine cycles. i.e. heat-sealing jaws on the Dry Depositor. This exposed employees to caught-between hazards from moving machine parts that could result in amputations. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
