29 CFR 1910.1053(c): Employer did not ensure that no employee was exposed to an airborne concentration of respirable crystalline silica in excess of 50 micrograms per cubic meter (50 mcg/m3), calculated as an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA): Production Area: Employer did not ensure that employee airborne exposure did not exceed the OSHA permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 mcg/m3, calculated as an 8-hour TWA for respirable crystalline silica in the following locations/job tasks: a) Tumbling - A tumbler operator who operated the concrete block tumbling machine line was exposed to an airborne concentration of respirable crystalline silica at 77.0 mcg/m3 calculated as an 8-hour time weighted average. b) Splitting/Mixer Cleanout - A splitter/mixer cleaner who operated the splitting area of the concrete block manufacturing machine line and cleaned out the mixers was exposed to an airborne concentration of respirable crystalline silica at 64 mcg/m3 calculated as an 8-hour time weighted average.
