Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use: a.) On or about November 16, 2023, and at times prior, the employer did not provide a written program when employees were required (mandatory) to wear N-95s and half-face respirators. Employees in the saw cutting room are required to wear N-95s. There was no written program established for use of mandatory respirators, exposing employees to inhalation hazards such as silica. The employer required the use of N95s during brick cutting operations prior to sampling.
