29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3)(i): Training program content. Powered industrial truck operators shall receive initial training in the following topics, except in topics which the employer can demonstrate are not applicable to safe operation of the truck in the employer's workplace. Truck-related topics: (A) Operating instructions, warnings, and precautions for the types of truck the operator will be authorized to operate; (G) Fork and attachment adaptation, operation, and use limitations; a) On or before March 21, 2023, the employer's training program content did not include that each employee would receive truck-related topic training on the use and limitations of the clamp attachment that is used to consolidate boxes of product prior to being wrapped. b) On or about March 21, 2023, the employer's training program content did not ensure that employees would receive training in that the employer did not designate in the PIV program that forward travel may only be completed when there are no obstructions for the PIV operators. c) On or about March 21, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees had received adequate training on the pedestrian travel areas in the facility in that the PIV program content did not ensure that pedestrians are not working in conclusion with forklift operators who are moving loads in the areas including but not limited to the consolidation area.
