29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Installation and use. Listed or labeled equipment shall be installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling. The employer does not ensure that all electrical equipment is utilized according to the listing or labeling. a) This most recently occurred on or about December 1, 2022, throughout Dollar General Store No. 22944, located at 607 East Highland Drive in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. The employer uses metal outlet boxes with knockouts that are not installed in accordance with the UL identifier QCIT which states that the boxes shall be mounted in or on a surface. The metal outlet boxes are attached to drop down flexible cords and suspended above the retail floor, providing power to various coolers and lights throughout the store. Dollar General Corporation was previously cited under the name Dolgencorp, LLC dba Dollar General Store #8083 for an OTHER-THAN-SERIOUS violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1910.303(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1550627, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as final order on March 18, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 10100 Airport Boulevard, Mobile, AL 36608.
