29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): (a)Lidel Construction Company, Inc. at East 69th Street North & North Seubert Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104: On or about and at times prior to September 14, 2021, the employer did not ensure an employee was protected from cave-in hazards. An employee was installing sewer lines within a a trench excavation approximately 7 feet 10 inches in depth with vertical walls and no protective system. This condition exposed employees to a cave-in hazard associated with trench wall collapse.
