Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(m)(8): Sufficient headroom was not provided under overhead installations, lights, pipes, sprinkler system, etc: Pilkington North America, Inc. - Rossford, Ohio: On or about January 7, 2021, the employer did not ensure sufficient headroom was provided under the encapsulation electrical transformer installation for loads carried by forklifts. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from forklift loads that hit the installation and fall from the forklift. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
