29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): Walking-working surfaces were not inspected, regularly and as necessary, and maintained in a safe condition. (a) On or about March 9, 2020, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not develop procedures and educate employees to ensure proper inspections of each ladder prior to use. Employees climbed a fixed ladder integral to a metal bin that had damaged rungs and exposed employees to fall hazards. Note: Abatement certification AND supporting documentation of correction are required for this item.
