Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(ii): Prior to permitting an employee to operate a powered industrial truck (except for training purposes), the employer shall ensure that each operator has successfully completed the training required by this paragraph (l), except as permitted by paragraph (l)(5). Warehouse, docks: on or about September 30, 2019, employees assigned to operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts) for mechanical material handling tasks did not receive initial training and evaluation in safe operation. Employees operating forklifts and those working around them were exposed to struck-by hazards likely to result in serious injury. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
