29 CFR 1910.333(a)(2): Where exposed live parts were not deenergized (i.e., for reasons of increased or additional hazards or infeasibility), other safety-related work practices were not used to protect employees who could be exposed to the electrical hazards involved. a) Jobsite: Ryan Ave (40.041744, -75.044129), Philadelphia, PA. - The employer did not use safety related practices to protect employees exposed to an underground and energized 13.2 kv line while conducting geotechnical drilling and sampling operations, such as, but not limited to, verifying the location of underground electrical utilities and maintaining the PA One Call utility mark-outs at the site after they were made. An employee suffered an electrical shock when he drilled into the ground and contacted the underground line at a location that was previously marked, but was no longer visible. Noted on or about 9/5/19.
