Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.29(b)(1): The top edge height of top rails, or equivalent guardrail system members, were not 42 inches, plus or minus 3 inches, above the walking-working surface: The employer is failing to ensure employees are protected from fall hazards associated working on a storage racking system. This was most recently evident during the inspection conducted on July 30, 2019 at a worksite located at 8901 Irvington Rd, Omaha, NE 68122. Employees routinely access an outdoor 2-story vehicle parts storage rack system to store or retrieve various parts. There is a ramp along the outer edge of the system that allows employees to roll a cart to the different levels. There is an existing rail that does not meet the requirements of a top rail. Distance from the top ramp to the ground is approximately 17.5 feet.
