29 CFR 1910.134(f)(2): Employee(s) using tight-fitting facepiece respirators were not fit tested prior to initial use of the respirator: a. Rear Yard, Stainless Steel Scrap Burn Area - The employer did not ensure that an employee was fit tested. The employer required this employee to wear a half-mask air-purifying 3M 6300/07026, 2097 P100 Particulate Filter respirator. An employee, who was performing torch burning of ferrous metal scrap, was exposed to 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) of 0.8550 milligrams per cubic meter of airborne lead during a 384 minutes occupational exposure. The 8-hour TWA employee exposure was 17.1 times the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.050 milligrams per cubic meter. The violation was noted on March 7, 2019.
