29 CFR 1926.1060(a)(1)(iii): The employer did not ensure that each employee using ladders and stairways had been trained by a competent person in the proper construction, use, placement, and care in handling of all stairways and ladders: a) On or about January 18, 2019 - 744 County Road 87, Calera, AL, employees were exposed to fall and struck-by hazards when employees had not received effective ladder use training for elements such as, but not limited to, understanding that standing on a ladder and shaking it may not detect cracks/defects in the frame, understanding that cardboard/tape/booties have to be removed in order to inspect a ladder, and understanding that cardboard/tape/booties change the function of the feet of the ladder.
