Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of particulates not otherwise regulated, total dust, listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 15 mg/m3: (a) The welder in the welding area was exposed to total particulates not otherwise regulated, total dust, at an 8-hour time weighted average of 28.421 mg/m3, approximately 1.89 times the limit of 15.0 mg/m3. This limit is established to prevent decrease in pulmonary function and irritation to the throat and upper respiratory system. The sample was collected on October 23, 2018 during a 455 minute sampling period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 25 minutes not sampled. (b) The welder in the welding area was exposed to total particulates not otherwise regulated, total dust, at an 8-hour time weighted average of 29.910 mg/m3, approximately 1.87 times the limit of 15.0 mg/m3. This limit is established to prevent decrease in pulmonary function and irritation to the throat and upper respiratory system. The sample was collected on October 23, 2018 during a 451 minute sampling period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 29 minutes not sampled. (c) The welder in the welding area was exposed to total particulates not otherwise regulated, total dust, at an 8-hour time weighted average of 20.788 mg/m3, approximately 1.39 times the limit of 15.0 mg/m3. This limit is established to prevent decrease in pulmonary function and irritation to the throat and upper respiratory system. The sample was collected on October 23, 2018 during a 371 minute sampling period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 109 minutes not sampled.
