Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(d): The established procedure for the application of energy control (the lockout or tagout procedures) did not cover the actions listed in and was not done in sequence as required by 29 CFR 1910.147(d)(1)-(6): a) Honda of America Mfg., Inc. on or about January 24, 2018, at the address of 12500 Meranda Rd. Anna, OH: The employer did not ensure that energy isolating procedures were implemented prior to performing service and maintenance activities inside the Line #1 Robotic Cell. A maintenance employee performing these tasks in a condition where a lockout device was not placed on the cells main electrical disconnect was exposed to the operating radius of the robotic arm. The employers established energy control procedure [required under 29 CFR 1910.147(d)] was not adequately utilized before the employee began the aforementioned work task inside the robotic cell.
