29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment: a) Pinnacle Powder Coating, Inc. located at 61 Saint Marys Street in Norwalk, Ohio; On or about December 18, 2017 the employer did not ensure that a hazard assessment identifying and selecting appropriate personal protective equipment was conducted prior to engaging in the electrostatic powder coating. Employees applying powder paint were exposed to hazards associated with exposures to particulates not otherwise regulated containing 1,3,5-Triglycidyl Isocyanurate while applying powder paint such as, but not limited to, irritation to the eyes, throat, skin, and upper respiratory system, hematologic effects, and male reproductive damage.
