29 CFR 1926.407(b)(2)(i): Employer did not ensure that equipment was approved not only for the class of location but also for the ignitable or combustible properties of the specific gas, vapor, dust, or fiber that was present: (a) Energes Services LLC, at Sekich tank battery, Weld County Road 13 and Weld County Road 32, Mead, CO: On 5/25/17, Energes Services LLC did not ensure that equipment was approved not only for the class of location but also for the ignitable or combustible properties of the specific gas, vapor, dust, or fiber that was present. Energes Services LLC performed roustabout work at a construction project at a crude oil tank battery. The employer was using electrical polyfusion equipment to fuse ends of plastic piping in an area classified as Class I, Division I. The equipment was not approved for the class of the location.
