Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.29(j): Body belts, harnesses, and other components used in personal fall arrest systems, work positioning systems, and travel restraint systems must meet the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.140: On or about 25 April 2017 to 01 May 2017, the employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was adequately protected from falling. The employers system of fall protection incorporated a webbing pull back device that would become compromised if an employee fell over an edge. The webbing would likely be frayed or cut, resulting in a fall of approximately 30 feet while working in rack systems and also conveyor systems. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
