Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002A Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in such proximity to any part of electric power circuits and could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means. (a) Locust Avenue: On or about November 17, 2015 and times prior, one employee was working from a scaffold within 5 foot of the energized residential power lines and weather heads, another employee had ducked under the power lines while working on the scaffold, exposing the employees to a 3 wire open service 120v-240v of electricity from a primary service drop of 2,400 volts. (b) Locust Avenue: On or about November 17, 2015 and times prior, employees were using a 40 foot extension ladder to access and exit the roof of the building. The ladder was placed as close as 20 inches to the service line and weather head exposing employees to the 120v-240v of electricity from the service drop.
