29 CFR 1926.454(a): The employer did not have each employee who performed work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used including electrical hazards, fall hazards and falling object hazards, the correct procedures for dealing with electrical hazards, for erecting, maintaining and disassembling fall protection systems and falling objection protection, the proper use of the scaffold(s) and the proper handling of materials on the scaffold, the maximum intended load and the load-carrying capacities of the scaffold(s) used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards. Location: West Chimney, Yale University Power Plant, 120 Tower Parkway, New Haven, CT 06511 Each employee working on a scaffold platform was not provided with training by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the scaffolding being used, electrical hazards, fall hazards, fall protection systems, falling object hazards, erecting, maintaining and disassembling fall hazards, the proper use of scaffold(s) and proper handling of materials on a scaffold, the maximum intended load and load-carrying capacity of the scaffold along with the procedures to control and/or eliminate such hazards.
