29 CFR 1910.146(c)(2): The employer did not inform exposed employees, by posting danger signs or by any other equally effective means, of the existence and location of and the danger posed by the permit required confined space (NOTE: A sign reading "DANGER--PERMIT-REQUIRED CONFINED SPACE, DO NOT ENTER" or using other similar language would satisfy the requirement for a sign): a) A.M. Castle & Co., Franklin Park, IL, did not inform exposed employees, by posting danger signs or by any other equally effective means, of the existence, location and danger posed by potential existence of a permit-required confined space, including the chamber of the Viking RT-6018 shot blaster. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
