Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to chemical and physical hazards while opening valves on tank trailers in the facility. Work Bay: On or about September 9, 2014: The employer failed to provide a means to guard employees from hazardous materials and energy in that the employer required employees to open valves on tank trailers without providing a means to divert the released materials or energy away from the area the employee is required to stand.
