29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employees exposure: a. On or about July 30, 2014, employees working as nurses and medical assistants were exposed to bloodborne pathogen hazards while assisting the physicians during bone marrow procedures, drawing blood, and providing oncology care to patients and the employer failed to use engineering controls or work practices that would eliminate or minimize exposures and identify particular engineering controls, such as self-sheathing needles or needleless systems among other controls.
