29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. a) Production Area- On or about 09/08/11, the employer failed to maintain adequate barrier guards to prevent employees from getting hands/fingers caught in nip points created when aluminum sheets are being formed and cut on the PS-2 Soffit Starter Strip "Part S" and the F-4 8" Fascia SL-8 machines. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
