OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrocution hazards: a) On or about 3/31/2014, Sick Cow Barn: Employees were exposed to energized parts of a switching mechanism for the milk tank cooler compressor. b) On or about 3/31/2014, Sick Cow Barn: Employees were exposed to electrical equipment that was not installed in a safe and workmanlike manner such as no strain relief provided for wires entering into electrical motors. c) On or about 3/31/2014, Sick Cow Barn: Employees were exposed to electrical equipment that was not installed in a safe and workmanlike manner such as electrical connections being made outside of a junction box. Among other feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code 70, National Electric Code, Section 110.27 and Section 110.12.
