29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or warning line systems and safety monitoring systems. On or about 16 January 2014, and at times prior thereto, five roofers were performing various roofing activities on the second story roof on an apartment complex at an approximate 4 to 12 pitch without the use of fall protection, exposing them to a fall hazard of approximately 16 feet to the ground or concrete below.
