29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Injection molding machines #33 & #34 did not have the ejection chute area of the machines guarded to prevent access to the mold dies during operation. b) Hurco VM1, serial VM1-06018083BEA and Hurco BMC, serial OHT9001025B were being operated without interlocked guard doors to prevent entry during machine operation. c) The #81 fully electric injection molding machine had an unguarded opening in the ejection area of approximately 18" x 35", permitting access to the die area during operation.
