Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: a) Exterior Front of Structure - A laborer was observed pouring a bag of Roanoke Masonry Cement that contained Portland Cement, into a mortar mixer, and was not wearing eye protection, on or about 07/18/13. b) Exterior Front of Structure - A brick layer was observed striking wet mortar joints which contained Portland Cement, and was not wearing eye protection, on or about 07/18/13. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
