29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: A.) On or about Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 22-20 36th Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11106, Meat Preparation Area Unused portions of a Biro MFG Co. (Model Number: 3334) vertical meat saw blade used by employees during the cutting of various meats (i.e. poultry, beef, lamb) was unguarded exposing employees to amputation hazards. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19
